With increased of hospital and doctor's office, it became difficult to record and organize patient's information by papers. New media helps more than just making easier to organize patient's information, but in a better way, it given faster transmitting reports or doctor notes from one facility to another.

MDLand is a healthcare media that provides healthcare platform, which connects more than thousands of clinic offices, medical centers, providers, lab facilities, and pharmacies across the United States. MDLand was founded in 1999 by a group of New York City physicians, they believe such media will connects them together. MDLand is a technology-focused media that easily shares information in-network, but also protects patient privacy and safety from out-network.

MDLand provides a better management of individual patient's account. Such as keep track of patient's condition, reports, and electronic medical records. Also, it makes scheduling for medical centers easier, you can just select a patient's name to make appointment and use "X" sign to cancel the appointment. Mdland connects physicians with pharmacies, so physicians can do electronic prescribing rather than paper prescription, and the system will automatically record the history of the medicines prescribed. Claims generation and processing in MDLand is also a helpful tool, physicians can make claims through in-network insurance company, and can send message to each other if having any claim problems. One of the most difference from MDLand is that eClinical Works is not just limited to physicians and professional facilities, but it allows patient to engage in the system. Patient can view their own records and medication history. Wikis Used for Collaborative Medical Theses and Procedural Advancements

Does anybody know if hospitals and doctors are already using wikis for the shared effort of medicine informational advancement? When I was writing my Wiki v Blog post, I came up with the idea that it could probably be super beneficial for hospitals to create nationwide wikis for doctors and nurses to contribute to. Do you agree or disagree that this could potentially be a very good use for wikis?
